1. How do I check-in/check-out?


Check-in times align with the afternoon ferry arrivals, around 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM. If you plan to arrive earlier or later, please contact us at 1 (877) 334-9465 or email seineboatinn@gmail.com. We may arrange self-check-in for guests arriving outside of standard times.

Check-out time is 11:00 AM. You can leave your keys in your room or in the key box located on the right side of the gate as you exit.

2. Is there Wi-Fi at the Inn?


Yes, complimentary Wi-Fi is available for all guests. The password is seineboat.

3. Where can I park my vehicle?


Limited guest parking is available directly across the street from the Inn. For electric vehicle owners, click here to view EV charging station locations in Alert Bay.

4. How do I get to the Seine Boat Inn?


You will take a BC Ferry from Port McNeill to Alert Bay, a 40-minute sailing. No reservation is required, and your ticket covers a round trip, so no return ticket is needed. The Inn is a short 3-minute walk from the Alert Bay Ferry Terminal.

5. What is the ferry schedule between Port McNeill and Alert Bay?


Port McNeill to Alert Bay:
8:40 AM, 11:35 AM, 2:20 PM, 5:10 PM, 7:40 PM, 9:30 PM

Alert Bay to Port McNeill:
6:40 AM, 9:35 AM, 12:20 PM, 3:15 PM, 5:55 PM, 8:25 PM

6. Are there dining and shopping options nearby?


Yes, Alert Bay offers several amenities:

  • Shoprite Grocery Store: Mon-Sat 9 AM-7 PM, Sun 11 AM-5 PM

  • The Orca Restaurant & Pub: Typically open Wed-Sat, 5 PM-9 PM; Pub on weekends

  • Pemba’s Kitchen at The Nimpkish: Typically open Wed-Mon, 11:30 AM-8 PM

  • Culture Shock Gift Store & Coffee Shop: Tues-Sat, Noon-4:30 PM

  • Alert Bay Pizza Delivery: 7 days a week, 4 PM-8 PM

  • BC Liquor Store: Wed-Sat 10 AM-1 PM & 2 PM-6:30 PM

Alert Bay is rich in cultural history and natural beauty. Explore miles of trails, totem poles, and beaches. Visit the U’mista Cultural Centre for an authentic glimpse into the local heritage. For outdoor enthusiasts, consider Seasmoke Whale Watching and Sea Wolf Adventures (both open seasonally).

8. Is the Seine Boat Inn pet-friendly?


Please contact us directly regarding our pet policy. While we love animals, specific rooms or dates may have restrictions.

Many of our rooms include kitchenettes equipped with basic cooking essentials. Please inquire when booking to ensure your room meets your needs.

10. Is smoking allowed at the Inn?


The Seine Boat Inn is a smoke-free property. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our environment clean and comfortable for all guests.

11. Are there laundry facilities available?


At this time, the Inn does not have on-site laundry facilities. However, there are local options in Alert Bay, and our staff can provide directions.

12. Can I request an extra bed or crib?


Please contact us in advance if you require an extra bed or crib. We will do our best to accommodate your needs based on availability.

13. What payment methods are accepted?


We accept major credit cards and debit cards. Cash payments are also accepted. Please contact us for any specific inquiries regarding payment.
