To discover Alert Bay and Cormorant Island’s rich blend of outdoor beauty, ancient First Nation culture and pioneer heritage: DRIVE: take a scenic BC Ferry to Alert Bay from Port McNeill, FLY: in on the 900 metre paved airstrip, MOOR: at the well protected Small Craft Boat Harbour, or ANCHOR: out in the Bay.
Traveling by car?
Once you’ve arrived at Port McNeill harbour, BC Ferries will deliver you to within a 3 minute walk of the Inn. This is an unreservable route, and the fare includes return passage. Pro tip: there is rarely an overload, except Potlatch weekends, and you need arrive about 15-30 minutes before sailing time. |
Everything in Alert Bay is within walking distance. There's an option of pay parking at the ferry terminal in Port McNeill, but yes… you can bring your car! There’s (just enough) parking in our little lot across the street.
